Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled US Expat Tax Senior Preparer Reviewer to join our mid-level team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have up to 6 years of relevant experience and will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex US expat tax returns. This role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and best-in-class service aligned with Unison Globus’s global standards in the accounting industry.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong experience in US Expat Taxation Preparation and Review (Mandatory skill), ensuring all expatriate tax filings comply with US laws and regulations.
- Expertise in handling Form 5471 (Mandatory skill), which involves reporting for US persons with certain foreign corporations for compliance purposes.
- Solid proficiency in FBAR, with a proven ability to accurately report foreign bank and financial accounts as required by US law.
- Skilled in preparing and reviewing individual tax returns using Form 1040, including those with complex international income sources.
- Experience with Form 1065, handling partnership return filings and interpreting the nuances of multi-member entity taxation.
- Hands-on experience in Form 1120, managing corporate return preparation for US-based entities with global footprints.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, capable of handling and reviewing multiple clients’ tax documents with attention to detail.
- Proficient in communicating complex tax findings and recommendations clearly to both clients and internal teams for efficient issue resolution.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and meticulously review US expatriate tax returns and related disclosures in accordance with IRS regulations and deadlines.
- Lead the preparation and review of Forms 5471, 1040, 1065, 1120, and FBAR to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Assess clients’ financial data and supporting documentation to identify compliance risks and optimize tax positions for expatriates.
- Communicate directly with clients, providing clear guidance on expatriate tax matters and documenting complex scenarios as required.
- Stay updated on changing US tax laws affecting expatriates and incorporate best practices and updates into workflow processes.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to address technical tax queries and streamline the tax preparation and review cycle.
- Provide mentorship and feedback to junior preparers to enhance overall team competency and service delivery quality.
- Support process improvement initiatives, recommending and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
