Power BI Developer – Job Description

Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Create and optimize data models and transformations using Power Query.
• Write advanced DAX calculations for measures and KPIs.
• Work with business teams to gather requirements and deliver insights.
• Optimize report performance and manage large datasets.
• Connect Power BI to different data sources like SQL, Azure, and APIs.
• Ensure data security with Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Document solutions and provide user training/support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience as a Power BI Developer or in Business Intelligence.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI (Desktop, Service, Pro/Premium).
• Proficiency in DAX, SQL, and data modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
• Experience with ETL/Power Query.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Good to Have

• Experience with Azure (Synapse, Data Lake, SQL DB, Data Factory).
• Knowledge of Python or R.
• Exposure to other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, SSRS).
• Microsoft Power BI Certification.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
