Job Title: Manager (Design) – VLSI and Embedded Systems
Location: Bangalore
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead a VLSI and Embedded Systems team. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in analog, digital, and mixed electronics, with proficiency in FPGA based designs, VHDL and C programming. A background in designing and realizing electronic systems for airborne applications is essential. As a graduate engineer, you will lead a dynamic team, driving innovation and ensuring the successful execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
o Lead and manage a VLSI and Embedded Systems team, providing technical guidance and support.
o Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
o Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Technical Expertise
o Utilize extensive experience in analog, digital, and mixed electronics to design and develop advanced electronic systems.
o Apply VHDL and C programming skills in the design, simulation, and verification of complex systems.
o Ensure the design and realization of electronics systems meet the rigorous requirements of airborne applications.
o Guiding the PCB CAD team in PCB Design especially in component placement and routing.
o Guiding the MECH CAD team in design of housings / enclosures.
o Experience in power electronics and engine control is desirable.
Project Management
o Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, purchase, production, customer and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project integration.
o Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
o Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates to senior management.
o Proficiency with Design Analysis – SI, PI, Power Budget, Thermal, Structural, Derating, Reliability, FMEA, FMECA etc.
o Preparation of documents complying with the requirements of CEMILAC for airworthiness including design documents, analysis reports, ATP, QTP, V&V and other documents as per DO-254 and DO-178.
Quality and Compliance
o Ensure all designs and developments comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, particularly for airborne applications.
o Knowledge and experience with DO-254, DO-178, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, JSS55555 etc is essential.
o Experience with qualifying the product for airworthiness as prescribed by CEMILAC.
o Implement best practices in design, testing, and validation to achieve high reliability and performance.
Continuous Improvement
o Stay abreast of the latest advancements in VLSI and embedded systems technology.
o Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
o Mentor and develop team members, fostering their professional growth.
Qualifications
o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
o 8 to 12 years of experience in analog, digital, and mixed electronics design and development.
o Proficiency in VHDL and C programming.
o Proven experience in the design and realization of electronic systems for airborne applications.
o Strong leadership and project management skills.
o Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
o Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills
o Experience with FPGA design and development.
o Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for airborne systems.
o Knowledge of advanced simulation and verification tools.
o Understanding of subsystem, system-level design and integration.
