Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Coder to join our team at TAGINDIA Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services provided by healthcare providers. This is a full-time position based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and requires a Junior level candidate with 1 to 3 years of experience.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
• Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCS-P) preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Coder in a healthcare setting
• Proficiency in using coding software and tools
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations, including CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding systems
• Knowledge of insurance reimbursement processes and claims submission
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services provided by healthcare providers according to coding guidelines and regulations
• Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding and documentation of all relevant services
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any coding or documentation discrepancies
• Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance
• Ensure confidentiality and security of all patient information and medical records
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding systems
• Participate in coding audits and compliance activities to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Work closely with the billing team to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims
• Assist in the training and orientation of new team members
