As the lead, you will work directly with the CIO/CPO, play a key role in the direction and architecture of our technology, and gain exposure to every functional part of the organisation. This will be an intense startup role with no typical day but best of all, you will see a direct and immediate impact of your work on the office-life of tens of thousands of employees.

Our future teammate will:

• Take full ownership of a 20+ team
• Create simple yet powerful internal and external interfaces for our users and staff.
• Improve our technology resilience using automated failovers, scaling, & comprehensive testing and refactor into microservices.
• Hold regular 1:1s with team members, giving clear feedback, providing guidance and coaching to help engineers grow their skills and experience
• Collaborate with Tech leads to ensure Engineering processes and practices are robust and secure
• Planning in advance for future staffing needs, working with the people team to open roles, and participating in the hiring and interview processes
• Have the experience of working on IoT solutions or at least a good understanding of them.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences

What we are looking for:

• Product Driven. Use technology skills to ensure deliverability of product features and ensure realistic timelines.
• Ownership Mentality. 3+ years in JS - MERN. 4+ years managing a team and 10+ years in software engineering. Understand and optimize our overall infrastructure and database schema.
• Context Shifting. Ability to switch between languages, applications, and backend/frontend
• Problem Solving. You enjoy digging into the complexity and nuances of problems
• Self-Starter. Set ambitious goals and timelines for yourself and then follow through
• Deep Knowledge. Applied knowledge of integrations and modern development practices.
• Experience building large-scale, cross-functional distributed internet systems and products is a must.
