Job Description – Nurse Educator

Summary: Provides education and evaluation to nursing and care taker staff, and facilitates evidenced-based research within a specialized area of nursing. Collaborates with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for a specialized group of patients. Performs direct specialty nursing services to patients as required, ensuring adherence nursing clinical standards, process & guidelines.

Responsibilities

1.    Provides educational leadership to nursing and care takers to enhance specialized patient care within established healthcare setting.

2.    Assists patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care.

3.    Initiates skills development programs within the parameters of established care models; monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.

4.    Develops patient care plans, incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards; consults with and serves as a resource to ensure quality patient care.

5.    Educates technical and patient care staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.

6.    Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

7.    Demonstrated communication skills necessary to explain complex medical and scientific concepts in a manner that’s easy to understand and provide written feedback on nurses & care takers.

Qualifications

BSc in Nursing/MSc in Nursing

Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience
