Position: Transport Management Executive

The Transport Management Executive is responsible for managing daily vehicle operations, optimizing routes, coordinating with drivers and transport vendors, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining transport documentation, and controlling transportation costs. This role ensures smooth and efficient movement of goods while adhering to compliance and safety standards.

πŸ“Œ Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Transport Operations

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor daily vehicle movements for inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Ensure on-time dispatches and timely delivery of materials to customers, warehouses, and branches.
  • Monitor GPS tracking, trip progress, and route deviations.

2. Driver & Fleet Management

  • Assign duties to drivers and track their performance, behavior, and attendance.
  • Maintain vehicle service schedules, fitness certificates, insurance, PUC, and permits.
  • Coordinate for vehicle breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance.

3. Transport Coordination

  • Coordinate with sales, warehouse, production, and logistics teams for load planning.
  • Manage transport vendors, ensure availability of vehicles, and negotiate freight rates.
  • Handle customer queries related to dispatch and delivery.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and verify LR, e-way bills, challans, trip sheets, gate passes, and PODs.
  • Ensure compliance with all transport laws, RTO norms, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records for vehicle logbooks, kilometer usage, and expense statements.

5. Cost Control

  • Monitor fuel consumption, prevent pilferage, and control operational expenses.
  • Track KPIs such as cost per km, km per litre, idle time, and turnaround time (TAT).
  • Identify opportunities to optimize transportation cost through route planning and load utilization.

6. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for management review.
  • Analyse transport performance and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain dashboards for vehicle movement and cost tracking.

  • Strong knowledge of transport operations, routing, and fleet management.
  • Hands-on experience with GPS tracking systems or TMS software.
  • Good communication skills for driver coordination and vendor management.
  • Ability to analyse data and prepare MIS reports.
  • Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of documentation, permits, e-way bills, and transport compliance.

  • Any Graduate (Preferred: Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce).
  • 2–5 years of experience in transport coordination or fleet management.
  • Experience in manufacturing/logistics/warehousing industry is an added advantage.
