Position Details:

Job Role: QA QC Manager (Shutdown)


Experience Required : 12+ Years Experience in Oil & Gas Industry with minimum 4 shutdowns in GCC countries.


Location : Oman


Education: BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities:


1. Quality Management System (QMS):


  • · Develop, implement, and maintain the project-specific QMS in compliance with ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2, or equivalent.
  • · Ensure all QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and checklists are current, relevant, and project-specific.
  • · Promote a quality culture across all disciplines and stakeholders.


2. Project Quality Planning:


  • · Prepare Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other QA/QC documentation.
  • · Ensure quality requirements are properly communicated to all subcontractors, suppliers, and construction teams.
  • · Participate in project kick-off and pre-inspection meetings to align quality expectations.


3. Inspection & Testing:


  • · Supervise and coordinate activities of QA/QC Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians.
  • · Monitor welding, NDT, coating, mechanical, civil, and E&I inspection activities.
  • · Ensure that inspection records are maintained and meet traceability requirements.


4. Audits and Non-Conformance Management:


  • · Plan and conduct internal and external audits (supplier audits, site audits).
  • · Identify non-conformities and drive root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • · Track NCRs and ensure timely closeout with corrective actions implemented.


5. Vendor and Subcontractor Quality Control:


  • · Evaluate and approve vendor and subcontractor QA/QC plans and procedures.
  • · Conduct surveillance visits and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
  • · Verify material certification, traceability, and conformity with specifications.


6. Documentation and Reporting:


  • · Maintain quality records including WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, material test certificates (MTCs), calibration records, etc.
  • · Prepare and submit quality reports to management and clients (weekly/monthly/close-out reports).
  • · Support document control in maintaining up-to-date QA/QC documentation.


7. Client & Regulatory Liaison:


  • · Serve as primary point of contact with client QA/QC representatives.
  • · Support regulatory inspections and compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA, ADNOC, ARAMCO, etc.).
  • · Facilitate client inspections and third-party witness points.


8. Team Leadership & Training:


  • · Mentor QA/QC team members and ensure proper training and qualification.
  • · Foster team collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • · Coordinate with construction, HSE, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
