Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Process Designer/Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed process designs, technical drawings, and layout plans for industrial processes. This role requires expertise in CAD software, an understanding of process engineering principles, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop efficient and cost-effective process solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and create Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Equipment Layouts using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SmartPlant, etc.).
• Work closely with process engineers to develop efficient process designs and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare 3D models and technical drawings for piping, equipment, and process layouts.
• Ensure that all process designs align with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Conduct site visits and gather data for process design modifications and improvements.
• Assist in reviewing and revising existing process drawings based on project requirements and feedback.
• Maintain accurate documentation and drawing records for future reference and audits.
• Collaborate with fabricators, contractors, and construction teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
• Stay updated with new design tools, industry trends, and best practices to improve efficiency and innovation.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Process Designer/Draftsman in an industrial, manufacturing, or oil & gas environment.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SmartPlant, SolidWorks, or other CAD software.
• Experience with 3D modeling and drafting software such as Plant 3D, PDMS, or Revit is a plus.
• Understanding of process engineering principles, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of piping systems, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.
• Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO, OSHA,

Most experience has been as a Process Engineer, fulfilling design needs for several downstream and upstream projects, working with both ISBL and OSBL systems. Roles fulfilled include Design Engineer, Process Checker. Familiarity has been achieved with the various protocols and procedures used to create a solid design. Sound experience has been gained in the development of new units while thriving under the challenges of the revamps. Computer skills were gained through the use of several types of software including Aspen HYSYS, Promax, Pro-II, AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, Visio, Microsoft Office, Smart Plant Explorer and several other proprietary software packages.

Designed and coordinated distribution of utilities for a plant that will produce RO membranes.

Designed, sized and selected mechanical equipment, including vessels, tanks, pumps, plate and frame heat exchangers, shell and tube heat exchangers, static mixers, and sprayers.

Performed instrument sizing for control valves, flow elements, rupture disks and relief valves.

Performed hydraulic calculations for the optimization of line sizing and pump selection.

Checked calculations and datasheets of other Process Engineers before submitting them to other disciplines, vendors or clients
