Job Description:
The Construction Manager will oversee and manage all mechanical construction activities for oil and gas projects. This role ensures that projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and coordination with various stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and clients.
Requirements:
Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement mechanical construction plans, schedules, and work packages.
- Coordinate with project planners, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure timely material and equipment availability.
- Ensure compliance with project drawings, technical specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Manage day-to-day mechanical construction activities, including piping, structural, and equipment installation.
Safety, Quality & Compliance:
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures on-site.
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Ensure all work is performed according to quality control (QA/QC) standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct inspections and audits to identify and rectify non-compliance issues.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead and supervise mechanical construction teams, including engineers, supervisors, foremen, and workers.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines.
- Resolve technical and execution challenges by liaising with design, procurement, and construction teams.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members as required.
Stakeholder & Interface Management:
- Act as the main point of contact for mechanical construction activities.
- Communicate progress updates to project management, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical inputs when required.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
- Monitor and track mechanical construction progress against the project schedule.
- Identify and mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and delays in construction activities.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
