Role: SAP DBA HANA

Responsibilities:

·        Install and configure patches and Support pack upgrades to database systems as required.

·        Monitor and maintain the performance of database servers.

·        Set standards of database security and make sure standard backup schedules are active and backups are happening for both prod & non-prod database systems.

·        Perform Operational Database Administration tasks of start/stop for various maintenance activities and when required update configuration of the database systems.

·        Restore / Refresh of Prod to various non-prod systems. 

·        Collaborate with other technical team members on design and build of the Enterprise Application eco-system and infrastructure.

·        Serve as technical support for medium to complex problem resolution. Provide technical expertise for resolving escalated system issues. Participate in crisis meetings as necessary.

·        Automate administrative and operational functions.

·        Resolve incidents affecting the operation/availability of global systems, through troubleshooting and implementing known fixes

·        Troubleshooting and resolution of application and system errors.

·        Be available for on-call support as needed.

Required skills, abilities, and certifications

·        7+ years Database Administration on RDBMS like PostgreSQL/Oracle

·        Knowledge and experience with Linux Operating System.

·        Knowledge and experience with OS/Database Performance tuning and Database partitioning.

·        Technically fluent in SQL

·        Ability to write Korn Shell / Python or any of the system scripting language.

·        Ability to adjust priorities in rapidly changing environments; work well under pressure.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present complex ideas and designs to a variety of technical or non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred skills, abilities, and certifications

·        2+ years on SAP HANA database preferably MDC systems.

·        Knowledge and experience with HANA System Replication.

·        Past work experience with DB2, Oracle, SQL Server or any enterprise RDBMS systems would be ideal.

·        Extensive scripting and automation experience.
