About the Job Title:

The STRUCTURES DESIGN EXPERT will oversee all structural aspects of bridge engineering projects, managing design and inter-discipline coordination from initial design to construction support. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with design guidelines, managing a team of engineers, and leading QA/QC procedures.

The ideal candidate will act as a Structures Design Lead for pursuits and projects using Progressive Design-Build. The individual will have overall responsibility for all structural aspects of these projects and inter-discipline coordination of all technical issues with other discipline leads including Architectural, Highway, Environmental, Traffic, Public Involvement, etc. from initial design through technical support during the construction phase.

About the Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all structural engineering technical aspects of pursuits and projects with other disciplines.
• Interface with contractor clients through progression of the design deliverables.
• Ensure the structural design is completed in accordance with the contract guidelines and design documents.
• Establish structural scope, work plan and work schedule.
• Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that design documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client.
• Manage group of designers / engineers towards development of structural design documents and contract deliverables with guidance.
• Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of deliverables. Lead responses to client’s comments on structural design elements of the deliverables.
• Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiate plans for alternative actions.
• Coordinate with site for clearing all design related issues and maintain the progress.
• Train, mentor and develop staff to grow.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (can be even Master’s Degree) + 5 or more years of relevant design experience in bridge engineering, design and analysis or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five or more years of experience as engineer of record or structural discipline lead.
• Ten years of related design experience is preferred.
• Experience with alternative delivery methods or projects.
• Recent Design-Build experience serving as Design Manager or Structural Discipline Lead Engineer.

Additional Qualifications:

• Conversant with IRS, IRC, IS Codes & International Codes desirable.
• Experience in design of Bridge Structures, conceptual design, detailed design, structural forms, analysis using various methods, design of different types of bridges in RCC/PSC/Structural steel.
• Experience in hands on detailed design of different types of Bridge Structures for Highways, Railways, Metros giving leadership to design teams.
• Independently handle multiple projects and able to manage teams.
