The Store Assistant plays a vital role in supporting daily store operations at Spandana Hospital’s Bangalore location. This full-time, mid-level position requires 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in store management within the healthcare or retail sector. The role demands strong skills in inventory, merchandising, and maintaining optimal store standards to ensure seamless hospital operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in merchandising, with capability to organize and present products efficiently to maximize accessibility and visual appeal (Mandatory skill).
- Extensive experience in inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing discrepancies through regular audits (Mandatory skill).
- Solid understanding of store operations, including compliance, documentation, and workflow optimization for uninterrupted supply (Mandatory skill).
- Demonstrated ability in retail sales, utilizing persuasive communication skills to support internal staff with product selection and upselling where required.
- Adept at timely stock replenishment, ensuring shelves and storage areas remain well-stocked and products are rotated according to hospital protocols.
- Comprehensive product knowledge, especially relating to medical and healthcare supplies, enabling informed decision-making and accurate reporting.
- Problem-solving capabilities, particularly in managing stock discrepancies, shortages or supply chain issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, crucial for maintaining systematic records and guaranteeing regulatory compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day store management, ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and maintaining an organized, efficient storage environment.
- Handle receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and consumables, verifying deliveries and monitoring usage patterns closely.
- Monitor and replenish inventory levels, performing regular cycle counts and audits to synchronize with hospital records and minimize stock-outs.
- Coordinate with internal medical and administrative teams to fulfill supply requests accurately and on time.
- Support merchandising activities, arranging products for easy identification while optimizing the use of available space.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including stock records, transfer notes, loss and adjustment logs, and compliance documents.
- Facilitate periodic inventory verification and participate in annual stock audits in collaboration with accounts and management teams.
- Report any discrepancies, wastage, or expiring stock to supervisors proactively and participate in loss prevention strategies.
