Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Scrub Nurse for the Operating Theatre (OT) at Spandana Hospital. This mid-level position requires 4-6 years of work experience in a related field. The position is full-time and based at our headquarters in Bangalore. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in surgical instrumentation and intraoperative monitoring, alongside other essential nursing and aseptic skills.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in surgical instrumentation (Mandatory skill) to ensure efficient handling and management of surgical tools during procedures.
• Expertise in intraoperative monitoring (Mandatory skill) to effectively assist and monitor patients during surgeries, ensuring optimal outcomes.
• An excellent grasp of aseptic technique to prevent infection and maintain a sterile environment within the operating theater.
• Proficiency in patient positioning for surgeries to ensure patient safety as well as surgical efficacy for different types of procedures.
• Ability to manage the sterile field consistently to maintain infection control standards and support surgical team requirements.
• Skillful in equipment sterilization techniques to prepare surgical instruments and equipment as per protocols.
• Comprehensive knowledge of various surgical procedures to effectively anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• Familiarity with electronic health records for accurate documentation and management of patient data.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies while maintaining a sterile environment.
• Ensure all surgical instruments are prepared, sterilized, and available for use before and during surgical procedures.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and assist the surgical team with intraoperative tasks to ensure patient safety and surgical efficiency.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all procedures and patient interactions within the electronic health records system.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OT staff to facilitate smooth surgical operations.
• Participate in pre-operative briefings to understand the surgical plan and coordinate necessary preparations.
• Advocate for patient safety and well-being at all times, following established protocols and best practices in surgical care.
• Continuously update and refresh knowledge on the latest surgical techniques, standards, and technology relevant to the role.
