We are seeking a Junior Medical Specialist in Gastroenterology to join our dynamic team at Spandana Hospital in Bangalore. The position is full-time and suited for professionals with 1 to 3 years of experience. As a Gastroenterology Specialist, you will play a vital role in patient diagnosis, management, and treatment related to gastrointestinal conditions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience of 1 to 3 years in gastroenterology, demonstrating a strong foundation in patient care for digestive disorders.
• Proficiency in endoscopy (Mandatory skill), with the ability to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures safely and effectively.
• Expertise in colonoscopy (Mandatory skill), particularly in identifying and treating diseases of the colon and rectum.
• In-depth understanding of GI disorders (Mandatory skill), ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment of a variety of gastrointestinal conditions.
• Strong skills in medical documentation, including maintaining detailed, timely, and accurate patient records to support ongoing care.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments, ensuring holistic evaluation and the integration of care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Familiarity with diagnostic imaging, interpreting studies related to gastroenterological cases to guide clinical decisions and treatments.
• Effective communication and compassionate approach in handling patients, families, and interdisciplinary medical teams for optimal outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform endoscopic and colonoscopic procedures for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in alignment with hospital protocols.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of GI disorders, developing and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical documentation for all patients, ensuring compliance with medical standards and legal requirements.
• Undertake thorough patient assessments, collect relevant histories, order necessary investigations, and interpret clinical findings.
• Collaborate with other medical practitioners, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Provide patient education on gastrointestinal conditions, preventative care, and available treatment options to ensure informed consent.
• Stay updated with advancements in gastroenterology by participating in continuing medical education programs and hospital learning initiatives.
• Participate in quality assurance, infection control, and hospital audit activities to uphold patient safety and standards of care.
