Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior IV Therapy professional to join our experienced team at Spandana Hospital in Bangalore. This is a full-time position designed for individuals with 1 to 3 years of work experience in IV therapy or related clinical areas. The successful candidate will contribute directly to patient care through expert intravenous therapy services within our hospital environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in venipuncture, ensuring accurate and safe vein access for IV therapy (Mandatory skill).
• Expertise in IV catheter insertion to provide reliable and stable intravenous access for various treatments (Mandatory skill).
• Ability to operate infusion pumps safely and efficiently for precise medication and fluid delivery (Mandatory skill).
• Competence in ongoing patient monitoring during IV therapy to detect adverse reactions or complications promptly.
• Skilled in vital signs assessment to provide essential real-time patient evaluations before, during, and after IV therapy.
• Strong knowledge and application of aseptic techniques to minimize infection risks and maintain sterile procedures during therapy administration.
• Experience with proper medication administration including calculating dosages and confirming patient identity for safe intravenous delivery.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to inform, reassure, and educate patients and their families about IV procedures and care plans.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter insertions for initiating and maintaining intravenous therapy according to physician orders.
• Operate infusion pumps for administering fluids, medications, and blood products, ensuring accuracy and adherence to hospital protocols.
• Monitor patients throughout IV therapy sessions, promptly identifying and responding to complications or adverse reactions.
• Assess and document vital signs and other clinical parameters before, during, and after IV procedures for comprehensive patient care.
• Apply strict aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards during all IV-related activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate medication administration in line with physician prescriptions and hospital guidelines.
• Educate patients and their families regarding IV therapy procedures, care instructions, and potential side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and maintain high standards of care.
