Job Overview

Spandana Hospital is seeking a Junior Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technician for a full-time position in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience and will be responsible for conducting EEG tests and supporting neurological diagnosis as part of the neurodiagnostics team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven 1-3 years work experience as an EEG Technician, demonstrating expertise in neurodiagnostic testing and patient interaction in a healthcare setting.
• Solid understanding of EEG Recording (Mandatory skill), including operation of EEG machines and ensuring accurate data collection during procedures.
• Expertise in Patient Preparation (Mandatory skill), involving clear communication of procedures, comfort provision, and effective preparation for neurodiagnostic examinations.
• Demonstrated ability in Neurodiagnostic Procedures (Mandatory skill) by following standard protocols for various types of EEG and neuro monitoring tests.
• Knowledge of correct Electrode Placement based on standardized systems to ensure neurological data accuracy while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Capability in Equipment Maintenance, performing routine cleaning, setup, and troubleshooting of neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure reliable operation at all times.
• Experience in Calibration of diagnostic instruments according to manufacturer guidelines, ensuring precise reporting and compliance with hospital protocols.
• Strong interpersonal skills to comfort and reassure patients, adapt procedures for diverse patient populations, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for EEG and related neurodiagnostic procedures, including explaining tests, assuring comfort, and properly positioning individuals for examinations.
• Accurately perform EEG recordings and monitor patients during procedures, documenting all relevant events and patient behaviors systematically.
• Apply electrodes using established protocols and ensure high-quality signal acquisition throughout the study duration.
• Maintain and calibrate neurodiagnostic equipment, addressing minor operational issues and reporting malfunctions as necessary.
• Assist neurophysiologists and physicians by providing reliable diagnostic data and contributing to patient assessment discussions as required.
• Maintain comprehensive records and ensure proper documentation of each procedure, following hospital privacy and information security guidelines.
• Demonstrate compliance with infection control, safety, and quality assurance procedures in the lab and all patient care activities.
• Support training and orientation for new staff or students, sharing practical expertise and maintaining a collaborative culture within the department.
