Job Purpose:

Perform basic & detailed engineering work related to calculating, selecting, preparing piping designs and equipment models in E3D/ PDMS.

Develop design as required by peer functions / clients within time and budget with MAN Quality standards.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities

·        Understand Input documents required to prepare Various Process & Utility Piping in 3D plant design modelling software like E3D/PDMS

·        Conceptualize interfacing of piping with turbomachinery system components, such as Steam Turbines, Compressor, Generator / Electrical motors, Oil systems, Air inlet filters, Drain system, Fuel gas system and Process Coolers etc.

·        Perform Basic & Detailed engineering for piping systems like pipe selection calculation, review-piping geometry and select the line pipes & fittings as per applicable international regulations in plant design, such as ANSI, ISO, ASME, API, DIN EN, HEI, and IBR.

·        Prepare/ Review output documents like Plant piping layout, Supports selection, Piping Isometrics, Bills of Material for piping Support & line accessories, Weld book for use in Fabrication / Assembly shop.

·        Conduct pipe stress analysis and incorporate outcome into piping layout.

·        Prepare Client drawings (General Arrangement, Foundation, Piping Layout and support layout, components & detail drawings) with pipe isometrics, pipe routing for turbomachinery plant systems, equipment & structural modeling.

·        Co-ordinate the deliverables with the internal customers (Global / Local)

·        Compile and update Lessons Learnt document for delivering quality outputs as part of continuous improvement

Experience & Skills (What is required for the role)

Essential

·       8+ yrs of experience in turbomachinery systems piping design & analysis

·       Well Conversant with E3D/ PDMS 3D plant design system with minimum 6 years of experience in E3D/ PDMS

·       Good Experience in 3D design of turbomachinery system components, such as steam turbines, gas & compressor, electrical motors / generators, lube oil system, air inlet filters, drain system, fuel gas system & coolers.

·        Knowledge & Understanding of international regulations in plant design, such as ANSI, ASME, API, DIN EN, HEI, IBR, CE (PED).

·       Support preparing tech drawings (general arrangement, foundation, piping, support, components & detail drawings) with pipe isometrics, pipe routing for turbomachinery plant systems, equipment & structural modeling using E3D/PDMS.

·       Additional experience in Pipe engineering including pipe stress analysis as well as calculation / selection, of supports and / or details engineering & standardization of one or more turbomachinery system components (e.g. oil units, coolers, air filters etc.)

·        Knowledge of material specifications, P& ID, drawing creation.

·        Understanding of system equipment’s, their functions and layouts.

·        Ability to communicate vendor, customer & management effectively.

·        Provide tool, product, and process related guidance to team members.

Desirable

·        Basic knowledge of structural analysis tool.

·        Basic knowledge of creating catalogue / Library of standard items
