Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Counselor for our Ahmedabad location. This is a mid-level, full-time position where the individual will engage with patients, offering support and personalized care as part of our team at Sakhiya Skin Clinic Limited. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the emotional and psychological well-being of our patients, aligning with our standards of distinguished service.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong communication skills (Mandatory skill) for effectively engaging with patients and documenting interactions.
- Proficient in active listening, essential for understanding patient concerns and building trust.
- Demonstrated empathy, crucial for supporting patients through their treatment journey.
- Knowledge in cognitive behavioral therapy to help patients develop coping strategies.
- Experience with crisis intervention to manage and de-escalate emotional distress situations.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for efficient documentation of patient interactions.
- Understanding of motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior change.
- Experience in trauma-informed care, recognizing and acknowledging the effects of trauma in treatment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide personalized support to patients, ensuring their emotional and psychological needs are met.
- Coordinate with medical staff to integrate patient counseling with medical treatments.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient interactions using EHR systems.
- Conduct assessments to identify patient needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Apply motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral strategies to promote patient behavioral change.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Continuously update knowledge on best practices in patient counseling and care.
