Job Title: Fashion Designer

Job Summary:

Creative and experienced Fashion Designer to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion, a keen eye for trends, and the ability to translate conceptual ideas into innovative and marketable clothing designs. The Fashion Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring designs from concept to production, ensuring a seamless integration of creativity and functionality.

Responsibilities:

1.     Conceptualization and Design:

• Generate and develop creative and original design concepts for clothing and accessories.
• Produce detailed sketches, mood boards, and design presentations that reflect the brand's aesthetic.

2.     Trend Analysis:

• Stay informed about current fashion trends, materials, and techniques.
• Research and analyze market trends and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.

3.     Material and Colour Selection:

• Choose appropriate fabrics, materials, and colour palettes for each design.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source quality materials.

4.     Pattern Development:

• Create accurate patterns for garments, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
• Collaborate with patternmakers to translate design concepts into workable patterns.

5.     Technical Design:

• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed design specifications.
• Provide technical input to ensure designs are feasible for production.

6.     Prototype Oversight:

• Oversee the development of prototypes and samples, making necessary adjustments for design accuracy.
• Collaborate with sample makers to ensure high-quality prototypes.

7.     Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including patternmakers, sample makers, and marketing.
• Effectively communicate design concepts and collaborate with other departments to meet project goals.

8.     Adaptability:

• Adjust designs based on feedback, changing trends, and production constraints.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

9.     Quality Assurance:

• Conduct quality control checks on final products to ensure they meet design specifications.
• Address any issues or discrepancies during the production process.

10. Brand Alignment:

• Ensure designs align with the brand's identity, target market, and overall aesthetic.
• Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the brand's image through design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Fashion Designer in the industry.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design styles and technical skills.
• Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
