Key Responsibilities:

✔ Conduct vision tests, refraction, and prescribe corrective lenses

✔ Diagnose common eye conditions like myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia

✔ Assist ophthalmologists in pre- and post-operative care, as well as screening for diseases like glaucoma or cataracts

✔ Counsel patients on eye care, visual hygiene, contact lens use, and spectacle maintenance

✔ Interpret diagnostic results from retinoscopy, tonometry, slit-lamp, and visual field tests

✔ Maintain detailed patient records and documentation

✔ Participate in community outreach eye screening camps as required

✔ Recommend further referral to ophthalmologists for advanced medical or surgical management
