Key Responsibilities

✅ Patient & Family Support: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff to support patients and their families in coping with illness and disability.

✅ Counseling & Emotional Support: Help patients understand and manage their medical conditions while offering emotional and psychological support to them and their families.

✅ Social & Economic Assistance: Assess patients' social and financial conditions and guide them in finding resources for medical treatment.

✅ Financial Aid & Government Benefits: Assist patients in accessing government schemes, disability benefits, and financial aid from NGOs or government programs.

✅ Rehabilitation & Community Integration: Support patients with disabilities or chronic illnesses in adjusting to daily life and reintegrating into their families and communities.

✅ Discharge Planning & Follow-Up: Coordinate with doctors for a smooth transition from hospital to home, ensuring continuity of care and social support.

✅ Preventive Healthcare & Awareness: Conduct community outreach programs to educate the public about preventive healthcare, disabilities, and available resources.

✅ Training & Education: Mentor BSW/MSW students, nursing trainees, and NSS volunteers in medical social work practices.

✅ Research & Program Development: Contribute to social health research and assist in developing patient support programs.
