Position: Store Manager

Location: Pollachi

Department: Retail Operations

Reporting To: Cluster Manager

Job Purpose:

To oversee the day-to-day operations of the Reliance Smart Bazaar store, ensuring excellent customer experience, achieving sales and profitability targets, managing inventory efficiently, and leading the store team to deliver operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Management:

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales, margin, and profitability targets.
  • Implement promotional campaigns and ensure effective merchandising.
  • Analyze sales reports and customer trends to maximize revenue.

2. Operations & Store Management:

  • Ensure smooth functioning of all store operations, including cash management, stock handling, and store housekeeping.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with company policies, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure proper inventory management, including stock audits, shrinkage control, and timely replenishment.

3. Customer Service:

  • Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints.
  • Train and coach staff to deliver excellent customer experience.

4. Team Management & Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and develop store staff, ensuring optimum staffing levels.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement staff development plans.
  • Motivate the team to achieve sales and operational targets.

5. Reporting & Administration:

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, inventory, and staff performance.
  • Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions where required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Retail Management is a plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail management, preferably in a hypermarket or supermarket environment.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, and inventory management.
