Job Overview

The Junior Trader – Spices (Coriander or Fenugreek) will be responsible for trade execution and purchase and sale of coriander and fenugreek spices. This mid-level, full-time position is based in Neemuch and requires a minimum of 4 years and maximum of 6 years of work experience in a related field.

Roles and Responsibilities

• This role supports the Product Owner of Spices in driving the P&L of the commodity, making trading decisions and executing the trades.

• The role assists in planning and analysis, formulation of trading strategies, management of market risks and development of strong relationships with suppliers and customers. It also works directly on the trade execution and collaborates with the operations team to coordinate the operations associated with Spices trades. 

• Support the Product Owner - Spices in delivering the planned top line and bottom line for the commodity.

• Monitor and provide inputs on international, national, and regional developments and market movements for Spices, in collaboration with the research team.

• Support in the formulation of the overall market strategy for Spices trading and trading strategies basis supply and demand analysis.

• Propose trades based on formulated strategies and emergent opportunities and initiate trades. • Monitor trading positions and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential losses and hedge against price volatility and market uncertainties.

• Execute the paperwork necessary for implementation of trading decisions, and drive completion of the financial transactions.

• Negotiate favorable terms for purchasing and selling Spices considering quality, price and delivery terms.

• Draft and review contracts with suppliers and customers.

• Collaborate with the trade operations team to ensure smooth on-ground execution of trades and resolve any bottlenecks promptly.

• Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and resolve any disputes in a timely manner.

• Ensure complete compliance with both Reliance’s internal trading policies as well as all applicable statutory requirements across all trading activities.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of trades, contracts, and related documentation.

• Provide regular reports on market trends, trade performance, and risk exposure to management.
