We are seeking a dynamic Department Manager to join Reliance Retail in Athni, Chikodi. This full-time, mid-level position requires 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience. As a Department Manager, you will oversee all aspects of retail operations within your assigned section, ensuring high standards of customer service, sales performance, and operational excellence.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of proven experience in retail management or a similar customer-facing role within the retail industry.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on expertise in retail operations (Mandatory skill) ensuring store processes run smoothly and efficiently at all times.
  • Demonstrable team leadership abilities to motivate, guide, and manage store staff towards meeting sales and service objectives.
  • Strong skills in retail sales, including executing sales strategies, building customer loyalty, and maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Effective sales management capabilities to plan sales targets, monitor achievements, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Experience in sales, customer engagement, and the ability to manage relationships that positively impact store performance and growth.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, including stock monitoring, replenishment, and shrinkage control to optimize availability and minimize losses.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills necessary to manage daily operations and address customer needs effectively.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily retail operations for the assigned department, ensuring adherence to company policies and excellent customer service standards.
  • Lead, train, and develop team members to foster a positive work environment and align staff performance with organizational goals.
  • Drive sales growth by implementing effective merchandising, promotional activities, and upselling strategies.
  • Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring optimal stock levels, timely replenishment, and effective shrinkage control.
  • Monitor department performance metrics, prepare regular reports, and implement actions to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Address customer queries, resolve complaints, and ensure a seamless shopping experience for all patrons.
  • Collaborate with other departments, vendors, and support teams to coordinate operations and streamline supply chain activities.
  • Maintain high visual merchandising standards, store hygiene, and compliance with safety and security protocols at all times.
