Job Overview

The Commercial Manager at Reliance Retail will be responsible for driving commercial excellence, coordinating operations, and supporting business growth in the Itanagar region. This is a full-time, mid-level position suited for professionals with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in retail or similar industries, offering the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment focused on continuous growth and customer satisfaction.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Candidates must demonstrate expertise in billing (Mandatory skill), ensuring error-free, timely, and transparent transaction processing essential for operational success.
  • Proficiency in cashier operations handling, ensuring accurate management of registers and cash flows to uphold financial integrity across the store.
  • Direct experience in retail operations, managing day-to-day store activities, inventory, merchandising, and compliance to organizational standards.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills to foster loyalty, address customer feedback, and maintain superior service standards across all touchpoints.
  • Ability to develop and execute sales strategies, optimizing store performance, increasing conversions, and achieving commercial targets.
  • Proven record of effective team leadership, including mentoring, motivating, and training staff to deliver high performance in busy retail environments.
  • Competence in collaborating with cross-functional teams and reporting insights for commercial planning and forecast accuracy.
  • Keen analytical skills for interpreting sales data, monitoring market trends, and implementing improvements based on strategic business insights.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day commercial and billing operations in the store, ensuring accuracy and consistency with Reliance Retail’s standards.
  • Supervise cashier functions and oversee cash management processes, maintaining compliance with all company policies and audit requirements.
  • Drive and implement retail operations best practices to support sales, merchandising, stock control, and inventory optimization.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, proactively resolving issues and ensuring an outstanding shopping experience.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor store staff, setting clear expectations, providing training, and fostering a team-oriented culture.
  • Contribute to sales planning and execute local strategies to meet store targets and maximize revenue growth in the assigned region.
  • Monitor and report on key commercial metrics, identify opportunities for business process improvements, and mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational protocols, uphold company values, and represent the Reliance Retail brand in external stakeholder interactions.
