Job Overview

The Plumbing Design Engineer role at Reliance Industries Limited is a full-time, mid-level engineering position based in Mumbai. The position focuses on designing, planning, and implementing effective plumbing systems for a range of high-profile real estate projects including luxury residences, hotels, hospitals, schools, and office spaces. The engineer will utilize advanced tools and adhere to the highest safety and ethical standards in all phases of project development.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient expertise in plumbing design, including system layout, sizing, coordination, and construction detailing (Mandatory skill).
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD to develop and review plumbing schematics, layouts, and as-built drawings with precision and accuracy.
• Working knowledge of Navisworks for multidisciplinary coordination and clash detection, ensuring conflict-free project implementation.
• Practical experience with Revit for 3D modeling and integration of plumbing systems into BIM environments to support collaborative project delivery.
• Strong understanding of plumbing codes and standards relevant to real estate, guaranteeing compliant and safe designs for each project type.
• Competence in performing hydraulic calculations to determine pipe sizing, pump selection, and system performance for water supply and drainage networks.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines to plumbing system design.
• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent analytical, documentation, and technical communication skills, ensuring transparent and effective project collaboration.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive plumbing system designs for diverse real estate projects, ensuring functionality, code compliance, and sustainability.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documents using AutoCAD and Revit in accordance with project requirements.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations for sizing of pipes, valves, tanks, and pumping equipment to optimize system performance and efficiency.
• Review and interpret project specifications, tender documents, and regulatory standards applicable to plumbing engineering.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and onsite personnel to achieve integrated design solutions and address technical challenges.
• Utilize Navisworks to identify and resolve design clashes before and during construction phases, avoiding costly rework and delays.
• Support procurement processes by reviewing technical submissions and evaluating material and equipment specifications.
• Participate in site inspections, quality assurance checks, and installation supervision to ensure design intent, compliance, and safety standards are maintained.
