Education Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering + preferably cleared the Energy Auditor Exam.


Experience Required: Relevant industrial experience (8-12 years), preferably in refinery or petrochemical sector, with good technical background and exposure to PAT/RCO/CCTS


Job Description:

· Carry out site energy performance monitoring and identify improvement opportunities.

· Facilitate and participate in inter site energy audit, benchmarking and gap analysis; prepare related reports and Best Practices document.

· Perform cost benefit analysis of energy projects and prepare reports for Management.

· Develop and maintain energy system model and also participate in development of such models at the process & site level.

· Take initiative to realign energy project activities in the event of shortfall in deliverables as compared to annual and rolling plan.

· Carry out analysis of energy consumption and optimisation using different methods, e.g. PFD review, pinch analysis, and other software tools.

· Capture best practices and assist in implementation at sites.

· Explore and evaluate new technology/equipment for reducing energy consumption and support sites on trials and implementation of ENCON schemes.

· Interact with vendors supplying energy efficient technology/equipment.

· Ensure compliance with regulations, procedures and practices applicable to Energy and HSE.

· Awareness of GHG emission estimation, related standards and practices.

· Certification for Energy Manager/Auditor. If not certified, will have to obtain certificate at the earliest opportunity.

· Participate in external energy management training and events



Skills & Competencies:

· Knowledge of energy efficiency evaluation of furnaces, boilers, turbines, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, HVAC system, fans & blowers, electric motors and energy audit of process and utility plants is desirable.

· Knowledge of modelling, simulation and optimisation tools will be an added advantage.

· Good analytical abilities

· Good interpersonal and communication skill

· Good networking skill.

· Knowledge of national/international standards, e.g. ISO 9000, ISO 50000, ISO14064, PTC 4, PTC 4.4, is desirable.

· Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks is desirable.
