Plan, lead and direct departmental activities and collaborate with other department for smooth functioning and effective patient care and management.
Ideate, recommend, develop or suggest best policies and procedures, to Medical Director; to be finally approved by the Chair.
Drive adherence to the policies and procedures & staff safety and by laws across the department
To ensure that department & each specialty has standardized clinical protocols in line with evidence based medicines to provide standards care to all patient and achieve medical outcomes of highest standards for our patients. The medical outcomes shall be measured by hospital & shared on regular basis for continuous improvement and take appropriate guidance to address any adverse medical outcome as applicable from the mentor.
Responsible for designing the departmental governance framework and support medical governance of organization.
Propose the privilege delineation for the clinical staff for final approval of Credentialing and Privileging Committee.
Drive Vision, Mission and Values & Behaviors of Reliance Foundation Hospital across the team.
Direct and coordinate activities between Clinicians, Lab Doctors and Technicians and departmental Sections
Ensure all samples received in the Department of Laboratory Medicine from In-patient and Out-patient departments of Sir H.N.R.F. Hospital are conducted as per established quality norms and good laboratory practices
Monitor and oversee collation and analyzing of records, reports, test results, or examination information to support Clinicians to diagnose disease of the patient as per set benchmarks / SLAs
Ensure proper staff safety standards and infection control protocols are met through compliance with laboratory safety standards for the team members
Take corrective and preventive action as and when required
Ensure effective and efficient analysis, diagnosis and reporting following accepted professional guidelines within the stipulated timelines
Monitor and drive excellence and efficiency at Point of Care testing across the Hospital
Explain procedures and discuss test results or the diagnosis with consultants, patients and family
Be available to consult with medical staff by telephone or be called back if the situation demands and asses referrals from the EMS
Ensure that all patient related and administrative documents are accurately maintained/ updated ensuring patient confidentiality at all the times in HIS.
Lead & participate in core committee (as applicable), interdepartmental meetings, medical governance, committees and fulfill all responsibilities as assigned
Comply with CME credits as per GMC guidelines and registration in vogue
Participate as per the defined role during any internal / external disaster
Any other responsibility as assigned by the organization on the need basis.

Drive the International & National collaboration / tie ups as applicable to develop world class diagnostics services, clinical outcomes, path breaking results, high end technology with strong focus on academics to ensure quality care.
Plan, and participate in health programs in the hospital, Outreach activities or communities for prevention and treatment of injuries or illnesses
Introduce new services, specialties for further growth of the department
Key Responsibilities: Quality
Ensure quality assurance, quality improvement programs and safety related activities are adhered to across the department
Lead and drive accreditation related activities within the department
Support the Coordinator and the department to get integrated with the Quality, Infection Control & Patient feedback framework of organization.
Ensure adherence to internationally accepted standards of care, including but not limited to those recommended by JCI, NABH and other quality systems
