  • Lead OP readiness for internal/external audits; drive timely CAPA closures for all findings.
  • Ensure compliance with OP documentation: nursing notes, triage sheets, medication administration records, consent forms (procedures/injections), and patient education leaflets.

Patient Safety & Incident Management

  • Review all OP incident reports (near misses, medication/needle‑stick events); coordinate RCAs with Quality/Medical Services and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote safety reporting and “just culture” among nursing staff.

Clinical Collaboration & Rounds

  • Coordinate clinic schedules with Consultants; ensure room readiness, supplies, instruments, and nursing support for procedures (e.g., dressings, injections, minor suturing).

  • Participate in multidisciplinary huddles; ensure follow‑through on plans of care and discharge education from clinics.

Training, Competency & Performance

  • Conduct induction and periodic competency assessments for OP nurses (triage, BLS, safe injection, patient education standards).
  • Coach ANMs/Charge Nurses; run refreshers on clinic‑specific competencies (e.g., chemo handling, allergy shots, ophthalmology pre‑tests).
  • Manage appraisals and IDPs; organize simulations for high‑risk OP scenarios (syncope, anaphylaxis).

Supplies, Equipment & Infection Control

  • Ensure availability and par levels of disposables, vaccines/drugs (per Pharmacy), instruments, and clinic‑specific kits.
  • Coordinate with Biomedical Engineering for uptime/calibration of OP equipment (BP apparatus, ECG, PFT, slit lamp, etc.).
  • Enforce infection prevention practices in OP (hand hygiene stations, waste segregation, environmental cleaning, spill management).

Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with BMW rules, immunization cold‑chain documentation, AERB (if radiology adjacency), fire safety and first‑aid standards within OP.
  • Maintain inspection‑ready documentation for OP clinics.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
