Job Title: MST Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical)

Department: Engineering Services

Experience: 5 – 7 Years (preferably in Hospital, Hospitality, or Quality Facility Management)

Qualification: B.E. (Mechanical / Electrical) or equivalent

Work Schedule: Rotational Shifts (including weekends and holidays as per duty roster)

Job Summary:

The MEP Operations Engineer will assist the HOD/Dy. HOD in managing the overall operations, maintenance, and performance of the hospital’s MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. The role ensures maximum uptime and efficient functioning of critical equipment, machinery, and systems to support high standards of clinical care. The engineer will also be required to work in rotational shifts to provide 24/7 operational support, including weekends and public holidays, ensuring continuous availability and reliability of all engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations & Maintenance

  • Supervise daily operations and preventive/corrective maintenance of all MEP systems (Electrical & Mechanical) during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure smooth handover between shifts and proper logbook updates.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of all major equipment during different operational cycles, especially during night and weekend shifts.
  • Ensure quick response and resolution of emergency issues irrespective of the shift.

2. Technical Supervision

  • Conduct regular inspections across shifts to ensure adherence to maintenance and safety standards.
  • Lead and support the technical team working across different time zones and shift rotations.

3. Compliance & Quality

  • Maintain operational continuity and compliance during non-standard hours through effective shift management.
  • Participate in periodic audits and ensure readiness across all shifts.

4. Contract & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with vendors and AMC/CMC partners for scheduled services or breakdown support during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure effective handovers and communication related to ongoing vendor activities across shifts.

5. Data, Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare shift-wise reports, update incident logs, and ensure real-time documentation of key issues and resolutions.

6. Strategic Support

  • Provide operational support during commissioning, shutdowns, and emergency events irrespective of shift timing.

7. People Management

  • Guide and mentor shift engineers and technical staff to maintain performance standards across all shifts.

8. Additional Duties

  • Perform any other engineering responsibilities as assigned by the HOD/Dy. HOD, including participation in emergency drills, on-call duties, and special projects across shifts.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Strong understanding of hospital MEP systems and associated compliances.
  • Willingness and ability to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure during off-hours.
