Job Overview
The Microbiology Laboratory Technician (Senior Level) will work full-time at our Jamnagar location, playing a pivotal role in supporting clinical diagnostics and laboratory operations. Candidates should possess 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in microbiological techniques and laboratory management, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance in all processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven expertise in microbiology techniques, including specimen processing, culture methods, and organism identification (Mandatory skill).
- Extensive experience in managing clinical laboratory operations, maintaining workflow efficiency, and upholding regulatory guidelines (Mandatory skill).
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory quality control measures, proficiency testing, and documentation processes (Mandatory skill).
- Hands-on experience using molecular diagnostics methods such as PCR, real-time PCR, and sequencing for pathogen detection and analysis.
- Ability to perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing, interpret results, and ensure precise reporting to assist in effective patient treatment plans.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems for accurate sample tracking, data entry, result generation, and report management.
- Comprehensive understanding of standard operating procedures, laboratory safety protocols, and biosafety practices for a clinical laboratory setting.
- Adept at troubleshooting instrument issues, validating new methods, and training junior staff on updated techniques and compliance requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and analyze clinical specimens, following established microbiology protocols and safety measures to ensure reliable results.
- Perform culture, identification, and sensitivity testing of microorganisms using advanced diagnostic instrumentation and manual techniques.
- Monitor and implement comprehensive quality control procedures to guarantee accuracy and reproducibility of laboratory data.
- Maintain updated laboratory records, equipment calibration logs, and quality assurance documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
- Utilize molecular diagnostic tools for timely detection of infectious agents, ensuring strict adherence to standardized operating procedures.
- Supervise laboratory operations, mentor junior staff, and actively participate in departmental meetings and continuing education initiatives.
- Troubleshoot technical problems, coordinate preventive maintenance, and validate new instruments or test procedures as necessary.
- Collaborate with clinicians and other health care professionals to communicate findings, support infection control programs, and optimize patient care outcomes.
