Job Overview
The Deputy General Manager – IPD Operations is a senior, full-time position based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing and optimizing In-Patient Department (IPD) activities at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital & Research Centre. The role is critical for managing operational excellence, patient admissions, workflow efficiency, and quality standards within a dynamic hospital environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in hospital operations management, especially in multi-speciality healthcare setups, ensuring seamless workflow across departments. (Mandatory skill)
- Proven experience in effective bed management for optimal patient flow and high occupancy rates. (Mandatory skill)
- Proficient in managing patient admissions processes, from initial assessment to timely and accurate onboarding. (Mandatory skill)
- Strong knowledge of patient safety protocols and ability to implement improvements that minimize risk and enhance clinical outcomes.
- Experience overseeing all aspects of IPD administration including policies, compliance, and resource planning for efficient service delivery.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards such as NABH/JCI, and ensuring continuous readiness and process improvement.
- Hands-on experience with healthcare IT systems to streamline operations, enable robust recordkeeping, and facilitate data-driven decision making.
- A demonstrated focus on improving patient experience using feedback and analytics to drive positive satisfaction scores and loyalty.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and monitor daily In-Patient Department (IPD) operations to achieve efficiency in patient flow, bed occupancy, and clinical resource utilization.
- Ensure comprehensive bed management and admissions processes to support timely patient care and maximum service capacity.
- Implement and monitor patient safety initiatives in line with hospital guidelines, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Oversee a multidisciplinary team, setting KPIs, evaluating performance, and facilitating professional development for staff excellence.
- Coordinate across clinical and non-clinical teams to maintain high standards of care, compliance, and operational integrity in all processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging hospital information systems and regulatory data to inform best practices and policy updates.
- Plan and supervise internal audits, ensuring readiness for accreditation compliance and ongoing regulatory assessments.
- Analyze patient feedback and operational metrics to identify trends, resolve issues proactively, and enhance overall patient experience and satisfaction.
