1. Job Purpose
To provide strategic and operational leadership to the Nursing Services Department at Reliance Foundation Hospital, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centric, safe, and evidence‑based nursing care. The role ensures compliance with NABH/JCI standards, drives clinical excellence, enables workforce development, optimizes resources, and fosters a culture of compassion, competence, and accountability across all nursing functions.
2. Accountabilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Define and implement the nursing vision, mission, and strategic plan aligned with hospital goals.
- Develop policies, SOPs, and governance structures that elevate nursing quality and patient outcomes.
- Influence hospital‑wide decision-making related to clinical standards, patient safety, and operations.
2. Quality, Accreditation & Clinical Excellence
- Ensure end‑to‑end compliance with NABH/JCI standards for nursing documentation, patient care, and safety.
- Drive initiatives for quality improvement, outcome monitoring, and evidence‑based clinical practices.
- Oversee audits, incident reviews, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
3. Workforce Management & Talent Development
- Manage end‑to‑end nursing workforce planning including recruitment, retention, skill mix, and roster management.
- Build competency frameworks and lead continuous education through internal training, CME, and certifications.
- Identify and groom leadership talent among nursing supervisors and managers.
4. Patient-Centric Care & Experience Management
- Champion a culture of compassionate, respectful, and patient-first nursing care.
- Ensure high satisfaction scores by monitoring bedside care, responsiveness, and communication quality.
- Handle escalated clinical grievances and lead hospital-wide initiatives to enhance patient comfort and experience.
5. Operational Excellence Across All Units
- Oversee nursing operations across IP, OP, ICU, ER, OT, Cath Lab, Dialysis, Pediatrics, Oncology, Ambulatory, and other specialty units.
- Ensure optimal nurse-to-patient ratios, efficient workflows, and standardized care pathways.
- Drive efficiency in admissions, discharges, transfers, and clinical coordination.
6. Financial & Resource Management
- Prepare and manage nursing budgets including staffing, consumables, and training resources.
- Ensure cost optimization by controlling overtime, attrition, inventory, and procurement.
- Evaluate and recommend healthcare technologies to enhance nursing productivity and patient safety.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with clinical leaders, department heads, operations, HR, and quality teams.
- Represent the Nursing Department in management committees, ethics boards, and accreditation teams.
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff and hospital leadership.
8. Technology, Digitization & Innovation
- Drive adoption of digital health records, e‑documentation, and smart nursing station systems.
- Promote evidence-based tools, patient monitoring technologies, and automation in nursing workflows.
- Lead pilots and innovation projects to enhance safety and care delivery.

4. Experience & Educational Requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Necessary: M.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing with extensive leadership experience
Desirable: MBA (Healthcare / Hospital Administration), Certification in Nursing Leadership, Quality Management, JCI/NABH Assessor training
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
Necessary: 15–20+ years of progressive nursing experience with at least 5–8 years in a senior leadership role (DNO/ADON/CNO)
Desirable: Experience in leading nursing operations in a JCI/NABH-accredited tertiary care hospital; experience in multi-specialty hospital operations; experience with digital transformation initiatives
