NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Piping Stress Engineer analyses the Piping behavior under various load cases. Validating the Pipe Design specifies the supports (location, function) and associated loads are part of the responsibility. The Engineer checks if the Stress loads all along the pipe are within acceptable limits.
Able to perform calculations of normal complexity. Seeks guidance for complex tasks. Writes specifications and selection of piping components under supervision of Lead Engineer/EPM. Is able to analyse alternatives and identify best technical solution. Provides input to concept development.
Accountable to see cost impact, schedule impact, constructability, operability and maintainability of his designs. Responsible for technical procurement follow-up of piping components for projects. Can be assigned as Lead Engineer on projects for his\her own discipline.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform stress analysis and calculations of the Piping systems using Caesar II software.
- Responsible for performing Piping Stress Analysis (static and dynamic) and finalizing the stress Documentation.
- Finalizing stress analysis design basis, critical line list, work procedure, data sheets, support specification / standards
- Review and checking of third party analysis.
- Responsible for Planning and scheduling of Stress Deliverables
- Qualification of Standard Piping Support Details including design calculation and verification of loads.
- Identify, calculate and design suitable pipe supports. Document the calculations in accordance with Corporate engineering Standards
- Assist in the Technical evaluation of Pipe Stress calculation and Pipe supports bids submitted by suppliers.
- Finalizing Material Requisition, TBE for brought out items like spring hangers, struts, friction pads etc.
- ·Check internal Pipe support drawings.
- Answer general queries arising from clients, contractors or internal Company departments on pipework aspects of the Company's systems.
- Prepare formal responses to comments from clients and classification societies.
- Prepare and issue Stress Isometrics. Prepare and issue official Stress calculation reports.
- Attend and contribute to internal Company/departmental/Project meetings when required
- Follow all relevant Company Working Procedures.
- Follow all applicable and relevant legislation, standards and codes for Piping Engineering.
- Advise Lead Piping Engineer on the Piping issues of Project Design.
- Keep abreast of relevant developments in piping engineering with respect to the Oil and Gas industry.
- JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Qualification: An Engineering degree from a recognized university / Institution is preferable. .Shall have sound knowledge in CAESAR II. Knowledge in COMPRESS, PV ELITE will be an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum 5 Yrs for BE/BTech is preferable. Experience in an oil and gas company in specific engineering services focused on FPSO, FSO, other floating Oil & Gas structures and platforms is essential
