Role Purpose

The Industrial Relations (IR) Head acts as a bridge between management and the workforce including employees, supervisors, and third-party employees — to ensure stable, fair, and legally compliant labour practices, foster good employee relations, and support smooth plant operations.


Key Responsibilities


Formulate and implement IR & HR policies for the plant

· Develop and implement IR and HR policies and procedures in line with the Organization's

strategy and legal requirements.

.Manage labor relations: act as liaison between management and workers, and between

management and workers’ representatives.

.Help management stay updated on labor law amendments, union practices, wage regulations etc., and advise on compliance / policy updates. 


Handle grievances, disciplinary issues, disputes

· Handle grievances, disputes, disciplinary actions — investigate issues, mediate, and ensure fair

resolution in compliance with company policy and labor law.

· Promote positive workplace culture, employee engagement, retention initiatives, and healthy

employer–employee relations to minimize conflicts and disruptions.

· Maintain records of industrial relations activities (negotiations, grievances, disciplinary actions,

union meetings, agreements), and prepare reports/analytics for management.


Industrial Relations, Labour & Compliance

· Oversee industrial relations, union contracts, wage negotiations, dispute resolution, and

management of grievances.

· Ensure complete statutory compliance under labour, employment laws, health & safety, POSH,

contract labour, environment etc.
