- Elchemy is a tech-enabled chemicals distribution company solving supply chain challenges by taking a software-first approach. It was founded in the latter half of 2021 in the backdrop of global supply chain shocks induced due to the pandemic making the opportunity ripe for disruption. The team comprises alumni from IIT-B, IIT-D, IIT-KGP, IIM-A, & IIM-R & have previously worked at companies like Amazon Seattle, Samsung South Korea, Provakil, SRF, Laxmi Organics, Sojitz Japan. Within just 2 months of launch, the company secured $2M in pre-seed funding from marquee VCs and angel investors, including promoters of some of the publicly listed chemical companies.

- Our vision is to be a world-class tech-enabled chemical distributor exporting across the globe. We are now looking for Software Engineers to lead the tech team and work directly with the founders to build the product grounds up. You will get a ringside view of the business and have the opportunity to try your hands at full-stack development, DevOps, analytics and much more!
- Roles and Responsibilities:
- - Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure web applications with a
- focus on backend development using Django/Node and SQL/PostgreSQL.
- - Design and implement RESTful APIs to support our Frontend using Django
- Rest Framework.
- - Ensure the scalability and reliability of our backend infrastructure on AWS.
- This includes the configuration and management of EC2 instances, RDS
- databases, S3 buckets, and other related services.
- - Work closely with our data science team to develop efficient data models and
- pipelines to support our machine learning and data analysis initiatives.
- - Collaborate with our front-end developers to ensure seamless integration
- between the Frontend and Backend.
- - Identify and troubleshoot issues related to the backend infrastructure and
- work with the team to implement solutions in a timely manner.
- - Develop and maintain documentation for our backend systems, APIs, and
- data models.
- - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, while adhering to best practices
- and industry standards.
- - Break down high-level business problems into smaller chunks and build
- systems for enabling efficiencies
- - Take ownership of the development, testing, and deployment of web
- applications.
- - Define and implement the technical architecture of the application, and ensure that it is scalable, secure, and able to handle high traffic.
- - Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends, and quickly
- adapt to new technologies as needed.
- - Participating in code reviews and providing feedback to other developers to
- ensure that the codebase is maintainable and scalable.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related
- field.
- - 2+ years of experience in full-stack web development, with a focus on
- backend development.
- - Strong proficiency in Python and Django, including experience with Django
- Rest Framework.
- - Experience working with SQL/PostgreSQL databases, including schema
- design, querying, and optimization.
- - Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda.
- - Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies.
- - Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks such as React, Redux, and
- Webpack.
- - Strong understanding of software development principles such as testing,
- version control, and continuous integration.
- - Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design
- patterns.
- - Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as
- Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- - Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as
- TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn is a plus.
- - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- - Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
