Job Overview:

As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our mainframe-based applications. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of key applications used by our clients. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in PL1, DB2, JCL, and CICS, with a strong understanding of mainframe development and support

Key Responsibilities:

• Mainframe Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications primarily using PL1, DB2, JCL, and CICS to ensure high performance and efficiency.
• Application Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for existing systems, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and implementing enhancements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure project requirements are met efficiently.
• Code Optimization: Implement code optimization techniques to enhance system performance and reduce processing time.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation for all projects, ensuring compliance with best practices and internal standards.
• Production Support: Participate in the rotation of production support to ensure that the systems run smoothly and that issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices, code quality, and troubleshooting techniques

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 5-7 years of experience in mainframe application development, particularly in PL1, DB2, JCL, and CICS.
• PL1 Development: Proficiency in PL1 programming language, with hands-on experience in writing and maintaining efficient, high-quality code.
• DB2: Strong knowledge and experience with DB2 database, including designing, developing, and optimizing SQL queries.
• JCL: Expertise in Job Control Language (JCL) for job scheduling, batch processing, and automation of mainframe systems.
• CICS: In-depth experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System), including developing and maintaining online transaction processing systems.
• Mainframe Tools: Familiarity with other mainframe tools and technologies such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, IDMS, and Rexx.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to debug and troubleshoot complex mainframe applications.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Teamwork: Ability to work in a collaborative environment, mentoring junior developers, and participating in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
