Position Overview

Replicon is looking for a QA Engineer who is passionate about software quality, who goes beyond testing stereotypes and finds defects across all layers of application, who visions a test case structure of a product feature or feature enhancement, and who detects variances with implementation.

We need a candidate experienced and resilient enough to adapt to the complexities of working in an Agile, 5-day Sprint environment with teams spread across multiple global locations. Effective collaboration and soft skills are critical.

At Replicon, you will be working alongside developers and product managers to deliver robust software solutions. You will be collaborating with intermediate and senior QA team members to deliver cohesive test plans. You will be documenting and communicating discovered defects with developers, product managers a,nd test managers.

Responsibilities:

1. Apply your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper engineering practice, and foster testability, accessibility, privacy, and other advanced quality concepts across all Replicon products.
2. Responsible for improving the developer and automation engineering team’s test coverage Ensuring the code provided is tested at the appropriate level (unit test, integral/functional, UI).
3. Identify defects and test applications from the end user perspective, understand the domain Write clear, actionable defect reports.
4. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure a quick turnaround on fixes.

On-the-Job Qualifications:

1. High adaptability to frequent requirements changes and flow through deployment releases.
2. High ability to multitask and work on multiple streams during the day.
3. Able to detect scalability and reliability issues in the application.
4. Exposure in testing web services using SoapUI or similar tools.
5. Ability to read requirements and build test coverage.
6. Ability to learn the product quickly.
7. Ability to demo the application or a defect.

Other Qualifications:

1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science or similar.
2. Holding ISTQB certifications higher than Foundation level is a plus.
3. Previous 1-5 years of experience in QA, customer success management, solution engineering, or product support.
4. Basic in programming in any object-oriented language.

Must have:

1. 1-5 Years of testing SaaS applications (web and mobile applications, serverless microservices).
2. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
3. Candidates coming from Waterfall-based processes will not be considered.
4. Hands-on experience identifying console errors, network GET/POST, cookies, and cache.

Good to have:

Previous experience working in a team that deploys web apps built on cloud-native technologies through full CI/CD controlled environments. Proven experience working with APIs (e.g. GraphQL-based) Understanding infrastructure-as-code, code + pipelines, Kubernetes, and/or Docker is a plus Familiar with Amazon Web Services (S3 SQS, SES, RDS, Lambda, etc) Proven experience creating and designing tests for APIs (e.g. REST). Experience with feature flags (e.g. LaunchDarkly). Solid understanding of how the web works, Web Application Security concepts, threats, exploits, and prevention. Experience with manual and automated security testing. Knowledge of XSS. Experience testing apps developed using frontend frameworks e.g. React Hands-on experience on HTTP proxy tools like Firebug, Fiddler, or similar Previous experience organizing and executing test cases in TMSs Some exposure to database management (Restores, Backups, migrations, running queries) activities preferably on PostgreSQL). Experience doing accessibility testing Experience doing localization testing.
