Job Duties:

This person will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing networking solutions tailored for a banking IT environment. The role includes ensuring network security, optimizing performance, and supporting cloud-based deployments. Job duties of a Network Engineer at HGS Digital entail:

·        Design and manage cloud networking solutions, leveraging cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and security.

·        Maintain a strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPNs, etc.) and ensure their optimal configuration.

·        Implement and manage SDN (Software Defined Networking) and VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) configurations.

·        Configure and optimize load balancing, firewalls, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) to ensure high availability and reliability.

·        Apply in-depth knowledge of cloud security principles, including IAM, security groups, and NACLs.

·        Monitor and troubleshoot network issues using tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, AWS CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor.

·        Diagnose and resolve cloud network issues related to latency, connectivity, or resource allocation.

·        Automate network deployments and configurations using IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure and scalable network architectures.

·        Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and trends to maintain a cutting-edge network infrastructure.

·        Provide technical guidance and best practices to internal teams and stakeholders.

Expected Experience and Skills:

·        Proficiency in cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.

·        Strong understanding of networking protocols and hands-on experience in their application.

·        Experience with SDN and VPC configurations in cloud environments.

·        Knowledge of load balancing, firewalls, and advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).

·        Expertise in cloud security principles and configurations (IAM, security groups, NACLs).

·        Familiarity with network monitoring tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.

·        Proficiency in troubleshooting cloud network issues and optimizing performance.

·        Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

·        Banking industry experience is a plus.

·        Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional teams.

Background and Minimum Requirements:

·        A Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or associated fields, or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of:

o   5+ years of professional experience in network engineering, including cloud environments.

o   Proven expertise in designing and managing complex network infrastructures.

·        Knowledge of formal network engineering methodologies and tools.

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address critical network challenges.
