Software Delivery Manager

Company’s ambitions translate into developing Cloud and industrial IoT services that process very large amounts of data, that run autonomously, which are secure and provide an intuitive user experience. You and your team will develop backend and frontend software that:

• runs in our AWS Cloud

• leverages technology stacks like Redis, Kinesis, Spark or Node.js

• uses Docker and Kubernetes for continuous deployment

• applies machine learning algorithms developed with e.g. Tensorflow

• uses React to build web and mobile interfaces

• and is coded in Python (and in Java or C++ where needed)

As a Software Delivery Manager at Company, you are engaged in multiple ways:

Technical Leadership – You will lead and mentor software engineers, guiding them in their designs, reviewing their code, and strategizing on how to test the code and scope the work.

Agile – The Agile methodology defines how we do our s/w development at Company. You will participate in all ceremonies, ensuring that we honor the definition of “done” and helping craft the technical tasks in our backlogs. You will look for ways to continuously improve how we work.

DevOps – At Company, DevOps is not a role, but it is in the DNA of all of us! We continuously seek ways to accelerate our delivery, observe how things are performing and we experiment in order to improve. Your role will be to guide teams to employ observability as a core principle, avoiding the buildup of technical debt, and organizing or swarming to remove impediments.

People Manager – You are not just leading technically – you are also managing people with diverse backgrounds and goals. Your role is to keep them challenged in their work, providing opportunities to learn and grow and ensuring that they enjoy working at Company.

Communication – Excellence in software engineering is critical to the success of Company. You will be articulating plans and directions within your teams, but also informing others on the activities and the status of the deliverables.

Collaboration – In your role you will interact with many departments at Company and frequently collaborate with the head of software development, product managers, QA manager, program management, the CTO, and chief architect on the planning and delivery of new capabilities.

While doing so, you help:

Create virtual power plants comprising hundreds and thousands of distributed energy storage sycompanys, which help stabilize the electricity grid, take advantage of different energy related value streams and deliver concrete environmental, economic and social value to our customers

Your Qualifications:

Education – Master or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Software Development

1. 8-12 years of experience developing an external facing Cloud service

2. Experience with ingest, persist and processing of large data sets

3. Deep knowledge of the AWS Cloud framework

4. Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop)

5. Experience with continuous integration & delivery toolchains

6. You have programmed in Python

7. You are skilled in analyzing large data sets (SQL or other languages)

8. Know how to design complex data models

9. Experience designing and implementing micro-services

10.Have used Agile methodology (really used it) Supervisory - At least 3 years of experience managing a software team in a product development organization. Communication – You know how to write for, and speak to, a wide variety of different audiences and have excellent written, verbal, and collaboration skills
