OtterMaps is an early-stage B2B SaaS start-up building up solutions for landscaping and other green industry companies in the United States, Canada, and Australia regions. We generate valuable information from the property attributes using satellite imagery.

We are looking for a young and energetic candidate to join us to provide Geographic Information System (GIS) capability to green industry projects mainly in the USA. The GIS Specialist will perform development, update, analyze, and manage GIS data for a variety of services. This position will perform a variety of GIS analyses, GIS data development, GIS data maintenance, and data preparation for use in different projects while supporting both internal and external project teams. The GIS Specialist will work closely within functional teams to deliver GIS data to our clients, emphasizing teamwork, customer commitment, a sense of urgency, and continuous improvement.

Responsibility

• Responsible for the processing of customer source data per prescribed format using standard and GIS tools.
• Process, and validate team-produced and vendor-provided data for import into our system.
• Develop and review GIS mapping and data collection tasks.
• Perform digital feature extraction from multiple data sources.
• Utilize tools provided to build import/export configurations.
• Communicate with other members of the team to determine data and deliverable requirements.
• Follow standard procedures and processes including the use of required checklists.
• Track and report on the processing status of each customer.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards.
• Execute projections and transformations for project deliverables.
• Support GIS system needs and requirements to implement improved work methods.
• Create and update new and existing GIS maps and map layers and GPS data editions and representation using QGIS in support of field surveys.
• Collect GPS data and post-processing for high-accuracy data specifications.
• Support GIS metadata creation.
• Design/ configure extensions, plug-ins, and add-ins for GIS applications such as QGiS for in-house use.
• Support geo-reference Raster and Vector data.
• Conversion from CAD (AutoCAD and Microstation) to GIS and GIS to CAD
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or closely related natural science field. Applicable years of experience may be applied for the degree requirement.

Minimum Of 1 - 2 Years Experience

• Experience working in the QGIS and ArcGIS desktop environment is required (QGIS is a must)
• Annual Salary - Up to 2.2 - 3 lakh per annum

Basic GIS Skills, Including Data Analysis Abilities.
