Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the developer or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.

Technical Writers take intricate information and communicate it clearly, concisely, and accurately. 


  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
  • Prepare, edit, and publish product documentation for product releases including user guides, release notes, API references, knowledge base articles, and other resources.
  • Organize existing documents, identify documentation gaps, and drive new projects, keeping a focus on customer needs.
  • Ensure maintenance of release notes and drafted at one common repository for internal purposes.
  • Develop/Manage relationships with functional teams to enhance/develop content that drives user engagement and decreases support tickets and addresses complex problems through content.
  • Build relationships with customer-facing teams (Sales, Support, and Success team) and operational supervisors, and use their feedback to drive simplicity and usability of documentation
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing qualitative and quantitative measurements of content scope, effectiveness, and usage, especially for user search metrics.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.


  • Experience 3-5 years of Technical Writing 
  • Experience documenting IDEs, Web services technologies, APIs, SDKs, SaaS applications, or enterprise-class client/service software along with ability to read code
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures (gifs, png, flowcharts, etc)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of training techniques and best practices for onboarding or adopting new technologies.
  • Experience in using documentation tools similar to MediaWiki, Confluence, WordPress Documentation plugins, and so on.
  • Experience using Image or Video tools to create illustrative user guides with image or video snapshots
  • Good planning, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with multiple deadlines and/or milestone requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, including proofreading, copy editing and maintaining design consistency.
  • Energetic and able to work in a highly dynamic environment.
