• Integration knowledge with S/4HANA using SAP BTP-CPI

Soft skills/Analytical skills & Other Requirements:

• Good analytical skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Very good awareness of entire SDLC and processes related to SDLC. Should also be good in 

visualizing and formulating process flow diagrams.

• Mandatory: Must be willing to work in any shift: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM shift or 1:30 PM to 

10:30 PM shift (all hours in IST)

Technical: BTP CPI

Mandatory:

• Responsible for developing integrations between on premise SAP S/4 HANA and cloud 

applications (such as SFDC, SAP Fiori Cloud, etc.), other middleware applications (like: 

Informatica cloud, GXS Open text (MFT) tools) and on premise applications (like DB 

applications).

• Should understand the functional design, prepare technical design, develop interfaces & 

mapping in CPI, bug fixing, testing, documentation

• Should be familiar with cloud connector setup configurations for connecting CPI to on 

premise applications (like: S4 HANA, Mail server, DB, etc.)

• Should have worked as a hands-on CPI middleware consultant as an individual contributor.

• Must have hands on exposure in BTP IS - Cloud Integration, API Management (API portal, 

Business Hub) and Open Connectors.

• Using API Portal to call exposed SAP S4 HANA API’s (via APIM)

• Should have experience in discovering standard Integration flows and defining custom 

Integration flows.

• Expertise in handling integrations using various CPI adapters: ODATA, SFTP, FTP, IDOC, 

RFC/BAPI, SOAP, HTTP, Process Direct, REST, AMQP, JDBC, XI Proxy Adapters.

• Should have experience in handling different data conversion techniques (like json to xml, 

csv to xml etc.)

• Should have experience in using various CPI pallet options (Integration patterns – Message 

transformations, Aggregator, Enricher, Splitter, etc.)

• Should have experience in SAP integration technologies PI, CPI, EDI, ALE/ IDOC, RFC/BAPI 

and API based integrations.

• Must have expertise in writing Groovy & Java scripts.

• Well experienced in WSDL, JSON, XML, XSD and XSLT technologies.

• Must have expertise in Message Mapping techniques (including defining UDF’s) and XSLT 

mappings.

• Must Have knowledge in CPI exception handling, error notification techniques, data 

persistence and retry mechanisms.

• Should have knowledge in handling security artifacts, encryption, and decryption 

mechanisms

• Should have both CPI Development Experience and Operation Support experience.

• Able to transport Design Objects from non-production tenants to production tenants. (using 

any one of the methods: Manual, CTS+, TMS)

Nice to Have:

• Working knowledge of SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) service.

• Ability to design and optimize application and data integration processes across disparate 

systems

• Practical experience implementing service-oriented architecture design and enabling 

technologies including messaging, XML, SOAP/REST web services and HTTP

• Good to have knowledge on BTP IS – B2B/EDI Trading partner management and Integration 

Solution Advisory methodology (Exploring MIG, MAG etc.)

• Good to have knowledge on Event based Integrations using SAP NetWeaver Event Enablement & Event Mesh (Queues & Topics)

• Well versed with Database - SAP HANA/ SAP HANA Cloud and Oracle

• Understanding & working knowledge of SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP)- Based 

service

• Capable of recommending on premise as well as on-cloud integration Best Practices 

solutions from application integration standpoint.

• Experience in Migration Projects from other middleware (like: Web Methods, GXS) is 

preferred

• Candidate should be able understand & work on complex custom business requirements.

Should be able to debug and fix issues with minimum TAT.

• Candidate should be able to upscale the tech team on the BTP platform.
