Position Overview:

The Content Researcher is responsible for enhancing the editorial quality of the company's multilingual digital platforms. The role includes content monitoring, comparative analysis, metadata management, and research-based support across 24 state-specific news operations in 13 Indian languages.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Monitoring & Analysis:

·        Track news across newspapers, TV, portals, apps and social media; compare and identify news gaps, late updates, and discrepancies in the content.

·        Track and report missing major news stories and content quality issues; update findings in shared Google Sheets.

Research & Content Planning & Ideation:

·        Conduct in-depth research using national/regional newspapers, TV channels, web portals, periodicals and books.

·        Prepare backgrounders, chronologies of various subjects and content summaries for editorial use.

·        Maintain daily political chronologies and collect statements/promises from leading political leaders.

·        Suggest story ideas, features, interview opportunities, and news planning proposals tailored to state-specific needs.

·        Prepare election-related content such as story ideas, statistical analyses, and profiles of political parties and leaders.

·        Develop monthly News Calendars, Days & Events schedules, and year-end/state budget related content.

·        Input video metadata and chronologies into relevant Software.

·        Archive digital and print media sources; update state news databases regularly.

Skills:

·        Strong command over English and at least one regional language.

·        High attention to detail, especially in comparative and content analysis.

·        Proficiency in using digital tools (Google Sheets, MS Office and CMS platforms).

·        Knowledge of Indian current affairs, politics, and regional news landscapes.

·        Experience in journalistic research, archiving, and content planning is preferred.

·        Quick and responsive to desk queries and editorial requirements

Qualifications:

·        Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or Postgraduate in any discipline.

• Additional certifications in content writing, editing, or digital media are a plus.
