Senior Database Architect & Engineer (Backend Development)

Position: Senior Database Architect & Engineer

Location: Bangalore, India

Experience Level: 8+ years

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Database Architect & Engineer to design, develop, and optimize the backend database infrastructure for our next-generation Design Automation platform. This role will involve architecting high-performance, scalable, and secure databases that support real-time data visualization, multi-user collaboration, and version control.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Database Architecture & Design – Define and implement scalable database structures supporting EDA workflows, real-time data processing, and multi-user collaboration

✅ Performance Optimization – Ensure low-latency data access (<25ms response time), query optimization, and indexing strategies

✅ Data Management & Storage – Design schema for circuit design files, user sessions, and version control

✅ Integration with UI & Compute Engine – Enable seamless interaction between front-end UI, computation modules, and backend storage

✅ Security & Access Control – Implement robust data security policies, encryption, authentication, and role-based access control

✅ Multi-Tenant & Cloud/On-Prem Deployment – Architect database solutions for both cloud-hosted and on-premise environments

✅ Database Scalability & Reliability – Design fault-tolerant and highly available database solutions

Required Skills & Experience:

🔹 Strong expertise in relational & NoSQL databases – PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar

🔹 Experience in designing and optimizing large-scale databases (handling structured/unstructured data)

🔹 Knowledge of database version control and transaction management

🔹 Hands-on experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP BigQuery) and on-prem solutions

🔹 Proficiency in backend development (Python, Node.js, or Java) for seamless database integration

🔹 Experience in ETL pipelines, data migration, and API development

🔹 Knowledge of data security best practices, including encryption and GDPR/ISO compliance

🔹 Understanding of microservices architecture and database sharding

Preferred Qualifications:

✔ Experience in EDA or engineering software databases

✔ Hands-on experience with high-performance computing (HPC) data handling

✔ Familiarity with GraphQL, REST APIs, and data visualization tools
