Job Summary:

The Technical Lead – Mechanical Design is responsible for leading the design, development, and validation of mechanical systems and components. This role requires strong expertise in mechanical engineering principles, product development, and project leadership. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality mechanical designs that meet performance, cost, and reliability objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Mechanical Design Leadership: Oversee the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components.

·       Product Development: Drive end-to-end mechanical design processes, including CAD modelling, prototyping, and testing.

·       Engineering Analysis: Perform structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics analysis to optimize design performance.

·       Design Validation: Ensure all designs meet functional requirements through rigorous testing and validation procedures.

·       Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product integration.

·       Standards & Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.

·       Cost & Performance Optimization: Develop innovative solutions to enhance product performance while optimizing costs.

·       Mentorship & Training: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

·       Documentation & Reporting: Maintain ISO comprehensive design documentation, including Drawings, DFMEA, specifications, test reports, and design revisions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

·       Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

·       Experience: Minimum 7-12 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.

·       Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of SolidWorks tools and engineering analysis software.

·       Material & Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience with Sheetmetal and plastic components, injection molding, casting, and machining processes.

·       Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and develop innovative solutions.

·       Project Management: Experience leading multiple projects with strict deadlines and deliverables.

·       Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.

·       Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry trends, new materials, and emerging mechanical design technologies.

Preferred Skills:

·       Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

·       Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

·       Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.

·       Certification in PMP or relevant project management methodologies is a plus.
