Sr. Global Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary

This position is responsible for US Imports, Exports, and governmental agency compliance, including US Customs, FDA, USDA, DEA, CDC, and Fish & Wildlife.

The Sr. Global Logistics Coordinator will provide communication and routing instructions to Eisai’s global contract manufacturing organization (CMO) partners for product imports to Eisai designated distribution locations. The role will provide communication and routing instructions to Eisai’s CMOs for products manufactured within the US and the international community to Eisai designated distribution locations as well as provide shipping documentation, carrier selection, and receipt confirmation to Supply Managers.

This position is responsible for all documentation, communication and ERP system transactions associated with domestic and international transportation management of various Eisai products. These transactions follow all physical and complaint product movements to ensure accurate product traceability.

This position will work with US regulations for importing / exporting. Understanding at an in-depth level various forms (7501 and DEA Forms 161, 236, 357 & 453), USDA guidelines for importing pharma materials, and permits (CITIES, F & W) as well as a working knowledge of the export Automated Export System (AES) will be necessary.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to freight forwarding selection, customs brokerage clearance, communication with forwarding companies throughout the shipping process, carrier selection from port to Distribution Center, advanced shipping notification communication (ASN) and receipt confirmation to Supply Managers.

Essential Functions

1. Create commercial and pro forma invoices, USDA statement, pack slips, and domestic bills of lading as well as review incoming import documents for accuracy and compliance.

2. Review/revise SOPs, update routing guides and create/revise Work Instruction Documents (WID).

3. Ensure US Customs, FDA, USDA, and DEA compliance & timely inventory clearance for US imports/exports.

4. Ensure compliance with CTPAT rules and regulations.

5. Handle issues with hazardous shipping.

6. Oversight of domestic and international transportation management.

7. Provide daily monitoring and management of the Eisai SAP/ERP system to the distribution interface for Eisai 3PL. This includes monitoring of all receipts, inventory adjustments, shipments and returns. Ensure inventory balances are aligned by investigating and resolving discrepancies.

8. Accountable for documentation review and auditing retention.

9. Administration of Distribution License renewal.

10. Serve as backup in all functional areas in absence of the Logistics Supervisor.

Requirements

• Associates or undergraduate degree in Logistics preferred; In lieu of degree, 10+ years of relevant experience.

• 5+ years’ experience in global logistics and trade compliance required

• 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry highly preferred

• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required

• Import/export certification training

• Hazardous shipping experience; certification a plus

• SAP warehouse management module proficiency

• FDA, USDA, CBP regulations and compliance proficiency

• Basic understanding of VAT rules and EU regulations

• Must have detailed knowledge and experience with Incoterms, harmonized tariff codes, US Customs import/export regulations, FDA product codes, and US Customs’ recordkeeping requirements

• The ability to work independently

• High level of detail orientation

• The ability to work cross functionally with internal and external business partners
