Job Summary: This role requires someone with hands-on experience in setting up and optimizing paint systems, particularly for stainless steel surfaces.

1. Minimum Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's Degree  in any of the following:

·        Paint Technology

·        Surface Coating Technology

·        Chemical Engineering (with specialization in Paints & Coatings)

·        Polymer Science and Chemical Technology

·        5 to 8 years of experience in paint-related roles.

2. Key Skills & Expertise:

·        Paint Chemistry: Strong knowledge of paint formulations, base coat, grey coat, top coat, and clear coat applications.

·        Stainless Steel Application: Experience in setting up paint systems specifically for stainless steel.

·        Shade Matching: Proficiency in manually matching paint shades using tinter and binder.

·        Texture Development: Ability to create new textures and finishes.

·        Paint Testing: Familiar with raw material and finished product testing methods, including:

·        Cross Hatch Test, DFT Measurement, Delta Value Analysis, Adhesion Test, Impact Test, and more.

·        Paint Equipment Handling: Knowledge of spray guns, sanding machines, paint booths, and other paint application equipment.

·        Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve paint application issues from the root cause.

·        Quality Improvement: Experience in enhancing paint quality and resolving issues effectively.

·        Vendor Management: Ability to source and manage paint suppliers, including new vendors and technologies.

 3. Key Responsibilities (KRAs):

·        Paint System Setup: Setting up and optimizing the paint process for stainless steel from scratch, including all layers (base, grey, top coat, and clear coat).

·        New Developments & Innovations: Focus on research and development of new shades, textures, and paint formulations.

·        Team Management: Leading and training the paint team, ensuring high standards of work.

·        Quality Assurance: Conducting quality checks on both raw materials and finished products.

·        Operational Excellence: Improving efficiency in the paint shop and troubleshooting technical issues.

·        Vendor & Market Knowledge: Managing vendors, sourcing new suppliers, and staying updated on the latest paint technologies.

4. Additional Preferred Criteria:

·        Experience in metal coatings, industrial coatings, or automotive coatings.

·        Certifications in paint technology or quality assurance are an advantage.

·        Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
