Job Title: Accountant

Location: Kottayam, Kerala

Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of the hotel, including tracking revenue and expenses, preparing financial statements and reports, managing payroll, and assist the auditors in internal and statutory audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, as well as experience in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities:

* Takes revenue reports from front office, restaurants and other outlets like bar, cafe, banquet etc and enter the details into Accounting System (Tally ERP) on a daily basis.

* Handles cash payments to different vendors after checking the vendor balances by maintaining a expense voucher system and filing of supporting documents/invoices/bills etc.

* Maintain robust internal control of cash transactions.

* Reconcile and tally the petty cashes at various cash handling locations in the hotel.

* Bank Reconciliation on a daily/weekly basis.

* Manage payroll.

* Maintain accounting records for revenue and expenses and ensure that accounting records (in tally or Hotsoft) are up-to-date and as per the accounting principals.

* Comply with all regulations for GST, TDS, Excise etc. on a monthly basis ensuring no lapse in compliances.

* Prepare financial statements and management reports and present it to the HO on required frequency.

* Assist with budgeting and forecasting.

* Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

* Strong knowledge in Tally.

* Strong knowledge in compliances like GST, TDS etc.

* 2+ years of experience in tally accounting software. Hotel accounting is a plus.

* Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

* Experience with hotel-specific accounting software is a plus.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
